i can't agree more to Matthew, i can see everyday the use of hazard lights when on the road when coming to a full stop on a hiway coz of traffic you will see a hazard lights on. i only use hazard lights when in a full stop on the hard shoulder during a car break down, a break light is enough to use if you are breaking or coming to a stop.

and never use hazard lights it on a fog day a park light and fog light is enough to be seen by other drivers, and much worser the drivers who dont know how or when to use them.

Thanks Matthew for your short note. I see this every day when there is a fog. It is strange that we get to see this attitude of speeding with I don't care mindset even if there is a bad weather situation existing. Lot to be done to create a safe driving culture.

Hi Matthew, thanks for your post and I could not agree more!
HOW TO DO IT RIGHT:
In fog, we should make sure to use our dipped head lights (not high-beam!), and our front and rear fog lights.
Also: visibility down => concentration up!! ...and speed down!!!
WATCH OUT FOR:
Rear fog lights must be switched off outside foggy areas, since they overpower the brake lights and braking could go unnoticed by following traffic.
Hazard lights should not be used, along the lines of Matthew
