We fully agree with your statements and it would be wonderful if responsible school operators or real estate developers jointly with corporate volunteers would pick up the idea of the lollipop man and secure ways to/from schools in the morning and at school closing. Also schools are invited to include their senior students in ‘good citizen’ and social responsibility classes for community involvement activities! In our opinion it’s a low hanging fruit!

I’ve scanned your valuable website for information on initiatives regarding school crossings. I know it to be a real issue across the world, and here it seems no difference; the situation being cars driving carelessly around school drop off points and parents and children crossing roads on foot safely.
In England we have the ‘lollipop’ solution, which is local government funded and helps drive awareness and good governance on driving at crossing points close to schools throughout England.
This morning we witnesses a collision between a car and a mother walking her son to school over the zebra crossing. Sadly, this is a constant threat as motorists seem ignorant to the risks and drive down that road at speeds incongruent to the situation. I know the school has made enquiries on how to improve the situation but I would really like your advice, as I admire all that you have achieved to date, Thomas, and enjoyed listening to you on DubaiEye.
